1950's Telecaster

All the essential features of a 1950's Telecaster have been built into these Telecaster clones. Solid tonewood bodies with through body stringing and a vintage chromed 3 saddle bridge help to maximise the natural sustain. A hot open single coil pickup at the bridge is paired with a warm, bluesy covered single coil pickup at the neck to give the breadth of tone you'd expect from a Telecaster, selectable by the usual three way switch with single volume and tone controls. The maple neck with its characteristic skunk stripe inset has a modern 'C' section for better playability over the 21 fret maple fingerboard. The headstock carries no logo because we recognise that any name we choose is meaningless to you. Instead, we leave the head unadorned so that you can customise it to your own taste. We offer a choice of traditional body finishes - Butterscotch Blond with a black pickguard like the early standard models or the classic high gloss black lacquer with a white pickguard found on later Telecasters. Manufactured and finished with considerable care and skill, your guitar will be fully set up with light gauge strings before it is shipped to you. If you prefer a different set up, email us and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Sounds

The following sound clips were recorded using a Mesa Boogie V-Twin pre-amp on an Apple Mac running MOTU Digital Performer.  Other than trimming the sound clips to size and converting them to MP3 format, the samples were not edited in the digital domain.  No reverb, echo, chorus or other signal processing has been applied.....what you hear is the guitar through a clean valve pre-amp.  Apologies for the ineptitude of the guitarist!

After Sales

Most online retailers are simply 'box shifters' - once the sale is complete, they offer little or no support. We like to think we're not like that. We are always just an email away. If you have questions about your guitar, need advice on changing the set up or upgrading it, email us and one of our guitar techs will normally get back to you within 24hrs. We'll even try to help if the Telecaster isn't one of ours!

Warranty

If you are at all unhappy with your purchase, simply return the guitar to us within seven days of purchase in it's original condition and packaging for a full refund. Our guitars are come with one year warranty against manufacturing defects. With your agreement, we will replace defective parts rather than repair them within this warranty period. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

     Feedback

No, not a lack of copper shielding, just some of the nice things people have said about our guitars:

  • My 'nocaster' arrived today and I'm thrilled!  I've been playing for nearly 18 years, the past 10 or so professionally and this is one of the best surprises I've encountered.  I've wanted to buy a Tele for a while but always seem to get distracted by shiny PRS's and the like.   I tried a MIM tele then an American Standard and knew I'd love to get one.  However, I decided just to get a cheap Squier for fun and, maybe, to use as a 'relicing' project.  I ordered one from an online retailer but they were out of stock (despite them showing as in stock on their site).  I did a bit of hunting on eBay, found your nocaster and decided to cancel my Squier order.
As your tele was so cheap I decided to bid on a MIM neck which was up for auction - I assumed yours wouldn't be up to that sort of standard.  Fortunately I didn't win the auction 'cause the neck on yours is awesome!  It needs a little adjustment and there are a couple of highish frets, but the fret finishing is FAR superior to the MIM tele I tried recently.  The MIM's selector switch knob also kept falling off and the nut alignment was shocking!  I can safely say that yours fall between a MIM and the American Standard.  Forget Squier - yours are far superior.
I also assumed I was going to have to replace the pickups but they seem perfectly fine too.  They're surprisingly quiet and the guitar has incredibly versatile and 'useable' volume and tone controls.  All that's missing is the (controversial) Fender decal which I'll be applying as soon as it arrives!  I'm so glad you recognised the market for an unbranded copy.  I can assure you that this guitar isn't going to be my candidate for a relic job - it's just too good!
Your service was fantastic too.  Speedy delivery, great comms and very reasonable delivery charges.  The only thing I would suggest is having some more detailed photos on your listing.  I really wanted it to have a 3-ply pickguard and couldn't tell from the pics what was on it.  The headstock shape was also a little hard to make out (maybe that's deliberate ;-) ).  I think you could have even more satisfied customers if it was possible to see things in a bit more detail.  I was quite happy to take the risk based on your feedback 'though - and I'm glad I did!
  • Just wanted to let you know that I have now put the fender pups in the tele and even if it was good before, it is just fantastic now.
It really is as good as anything from south of the border now.
  • Bought for fun but so good I'll be using it professionally!Awesome service! A+++
  • Just a quick note to say how impressed I am at the quality of the guitar, I don't know how you can sell it and still make any money at that price. I've built a few telecasters in my time and I'd struggle to buy a 'string through' body in butterscotch at that price.  All in all, I'm very pleased with the guitar and I'll keep looking to se what else you may come up with in the future.
  • The more I play this Tele, the more I like it and it really is super fast.
I might just get another one!
